As disciples of Jesus, we are called to live a life of prayer. But what does it look like when our prayer life is influenced by the pressure of our western culture? Is it okay to pray for a parking spot closer to the shopping center? Or for the red light to turn green? What about the needs we have, will God take care of them if we don't pray? In part 4 of our series #Dialogue, Martial brings us back to the purpose of prayer. Our position to pray begins in the revelation of being a family first. He is our Father and He knows our needs. Our prayer life starts with a total abandonment in the heart of the Father. From this orientation, prayer become what changes the world.
Coming together at the Table of the Lord isn't just a nice idea; it is life changing. It was at the table that Jesus would bring sinners to encounter His love. It was at the table that Peter was restored. But what does it mean today? The centrality of the table is what God is about right now, bringing together divers people of different background and beliefs to connect them back to a community. This message was not planned but Martial felt the need to expand on the invitation that Jesus sets for us all as an example of building life together.
Have you ever seen a mountain move? Is prayer that powerful to move it? In this next episode of our Series #Dialogue, Martial continues to explore the basics of prayer from a the perspective of an apprentice of Jesus. All of us are surrounded by circumstances we cannot control, so how should we pray when we lose our jobs, face tragedy or have a terrible breakup? Give it a listen and be encouraged that in the midsts of circumstances there is something beautiful happening. Are you ready to move your mountain?
